As a $7 billion RIA serving high-net-worth families and business owners in transition, Balentine incorporates private equity, private real assets, and private debt into portfolios with the aim of enhancing returns. But sourcing, education, and transacting in alternatives can be complex. 

“It’s obviously a lot more paperwork to buy a private placement fund,” Ben Webb, Director of Investment Strategy at Balentine, explains. “We want to be servicing our clients and picking investments, not chasing forms and operational workflows.” 

With a lean team, Balentine also needed broader market visibility and the ability to keep pace with trends in private markets without sacrificing time with clients.

Beyond technology, Balentine attends CAIS events such as CAIS Live and CAIS Summit to stay educated of manager launches, market trends, and peer perspectives. “We can only cover so much,” Webb notes. “But to have the view that CAIS has and these types of events … really expands our view and allows us to see a lot more of the market, whether it’s managers or trends.”

Positioning for Scale and Client Growth

Balentine plans to continue scaling its private markets offering while preserving the client-first culture that has fueled its growth. By leaning on CAIS technology for operations and market perspective, Webb’s team can focus more time on due diligence, investment selection, and helping advisors.
