As a wealth management firm serving high-net-worth investors across the country, Schechter Investment Advisors was seeking to incorporate alternatives in their clients’ portfolios. However, managing alternatives at scale presented significant operational challenges.
"We were using alternatives from day one, and we noticed it was operationally challenging," says Aaron Hodari, Managing Director at Schechter Investment Advisors.

Looking ahead, Schechter aims to further integrate alternatives into client portfolios and expand their ability to customize investment solutions.
"I've seen stats showing that the majority of clients who have alternatives hold them away from their advisors. That’s a huge opportunity and a risk," Hodari notes. “If they’re buying stuff and investing in stuff that you’re not aware of, that you’re not vetting, and you’re not helping to incorporate into their portfolio, you’re losing assets and your client’s losing opportunity ... so for us, being able to include alternatives ... is critical.” Schechter’s relationship with CAIS continues to evolve. "CAIS is a partner to us. When we face challenges or have new initiatives, we call them. They help us find solutions," he says.
