Release Notes: CAIS Tech | Q2 2026

Article

Spring 2026 focuses on the moments in the investment lifecycle where the CAIS platform can support advisors most.

Advisors working in alternatives move through a consistent set of steps—researching funds, submitting orders, managing signatures, and monitoring positions. This release addresses each of those steps with enhancements designed to work together.

What's New This Quarter

New Holdings Experience

Holdings is your place to monitor position and transaction activity, and we've redesigned it to allow you to work faster. You'll see aggregated insights like total AUM, number of funds, and invested clients at a glance, in a simplified layout consistent with the rest of the platform.

  • Click into any position to view transactions, position valuation, and documents in one place

  • Use a dedicated Transactions view to filter and monitor activity across your entire book

  • Search, filter, and configure columns to match how you work

Enhanced Holdings Filters with Saved Configurations

We've enhanced the holdings filter experience by enabling advisors to save selected filter configurations for quick reuse. These saved filters can be accessed at any time, making it easier to revisit specific criteria without reapplying them. This improvement streamlines position management and reduces the effort required to analyze holdings efficiently.

Complete the Interval Fund Trade Cycle—Now Supporting Redemptions

CAIS is rolling out interval fund redemptions for Schwab Advisor Services™ users, completing the end-to-end trade cycle directly on the platform.

  • Flexible Redemption Controls: Specify redemption amounts by percentage, dollar value, or shares, with current NAV available within the workflow. Supports partial redemptions and bulk order entry across multiple positions.

  • Centralized Order Tracking: Monitor redemption activity alongside all fund orders in CAIS' unified Order Pipeline—providing a consolidated view of alternative investment activity.

Transfer on Death (TOD)

Advisors can now designate Transfer on Death beneficiaries as part of the digitized transfer workflow directly within the CAIS platform. This enhancement expands the range of transfer types supported, reducing the need for off-platform steps and paper-based processes.

Schwab Advisor Services Cash Balance in the Structured Investment Order Management Tool

Advisors creating structured investment orders on CAIS can now view their Schwab Advisor Center® cash balances directly within the order workflow. No need to leave the platform to verify balances—available cash is surfaced at the point of order entry, helping maintain focus and continuity.

By embedding balance visibility directly into the order management tool, advisors can move through transactions with greater clarity and fewer manual steps—within a framework built to support consistent, informed decision-making.

CAIS Compass—Expanded Asset Classes

Compass now supports more granular portfolio analysis across public and alternative asset classes with 3x the portfolio building blocks. Each asset class and new sub-asset classes is paired with an index and its own set of Capital Market Assumptions (CMAs) so that historical and forward-looking risk and return analytic outputs can now reflect the impact of specific exposures. Home offices can also configure which asset classes and sub-asset classes are visible and utilize their own CMAs and indices to align the experience to firm-level approaches.

Models—Total Portfolio View

Advisors will now be able to leverage model provider guidance on sizing the alternatives sleeve in the context of the total portfolio with new model parameters like model target, minimum, and maximum as % of total portfolio. Advisors can choose to enter a total portfolio value in the Portfolio Order Planner and automatically calculate the target alternative dollar allocations that align with the model portfolios guidelines for a more streamlined portfolio implementation workflow.

Multi-Order Signing Experience

Managing multiple orders for a client shouldn’t mean managing multiple signature requests. With Multi-Order Signing Experience, advisors can bundle documents from multiple orders into a single, streamlined signing experience, so their clients review and sign everything in one place, all at once.

Instead of sending a series of separate emails and sessions, this feature consolidates documents into a single eSignature workspace. Advisors can review documents, confirm signers, and send everything together while maintaining full visibility throughout the process.

  • Deliver a simpler client experience with one email and one signing session

  • Reduce back-and-forth by sending all required documents together

  • Manage and track progress centrally with real-time status updates

This is a more efficient way to get orders signed—saving time for advisors and eliminating friction for their clients.

Advanced Analytics: Interactive Payoff Modeling for Structured Notes

Our initial release of advance analytics introduces the ability for advisors to evaluate potential payoff scenarios. This launch includes an interactive payoff visualization that lets advisors dynamically model and explore potential outcomes of structured notes. The feature supports real-time adjustment of underlying returns and displays both the underlier performance and corresponding payoff on a single chart—providing clearer insight into downside risk, buffers, caps, and upside participation at maturity.

Structured Investments Position Management Workflow

A new self-service workflow to manage your book directly in the platform, without additional file handoffs. Built on the same workflow patterns as bulk order upload, it's familiar to structured investment users from the start.

  • Upload positions via file or import them from a custodian

  • Edit notional amounts, reassign advisors, or mark positions as sold

  • Delete records directly within the platform as needed

Additional Custodian Account Profile Integrations

CAIS is expanding its custodial data integrations with Raymond James to continue to support advisors across more custodians. Advisors will be able to import, synchronize, and maintain account profile information directly within the CAIS platform—reducing manual entry, enhancing data integrity, and streamlining workflows across alternative investments and structured notes.

This integration gives advisors greater control, clearer visibility, and ensures consistency between custodian and CAIS data—enabling a more connected workflow across accounts and investment strategies.

Bulk Ticker Trading

CAIS is building off of the existing order creation experience to provide advisors an even faster way to generate orders through the platform, further decreasing the time to trade and providing a way to submit for execution interval fund ticker trades directly to custodians at scale.
